The good Samaritan

Today I heard the story of the good Samaritan like I have never heard it before... The robbers are the devil, his minions and evil plans that are concocted from the pit of hell. The guy who was robbed and beaten is you and I...battered and bruised by life, years lost in tears, hate, and deceit. And we were at the wrong place at the wrong time-on earth after the fall....and no one could help us. No one had the heart. Then came one,who had nothing to gain,no stories of bravery and chivalry to share by lending a hand. This man,the good Samaritan is the Saviour. He looks at us in our fallen state and not only knows that no one will help us,and that no one can help us, but also that we shall die if we are left in such a state. So he treats us with oil, releases the Holyspirit upon us, that we may arise again. He pours wine on our wounds to disinfect them...and like the blood of grapes, His blood cleanses our sin....and then He carries us,telling us that we do not have to keep ourselves in this walk with Christ, we just submit to His will and He will lead us to the promised land having kept us alive and provided our needs.. ..and He changes us and brings us back to a right standing..The Samaritan took the man to a hospital and put him in their care and footed the whole bill.Behold what manner of love. As I listened to this, I reflected on what a great man of God Billy Graham was,for it was he that taught and also realised that this story tells of great cruelty, tells of the limitations of man, tells of the unmeritted love of God and His awesome provision and that when we accept to be found by Him, we are not only safe at last, but that we should be His hands and extend the same help to those we meet along the way whom no one has the heart to help,by doing what we can and referring them to our own good Samaritan, Jesus Christ.
